I have phoned to reconnect my service on 16 October 2010, with a new smart card and decoder. I have spoken to Sayman Ngewna and Sithaba on this day. I always had a debit order on my cheque account. This information was confirmed and the debit order reinstated. The first amount to go off on 25 November 2010, October, November and December subscription. Today my service is suspended for non payment. I phoned the contact centre and voilla, no account details, no debit order!!!! Funny that it was active for more than 10 years and all of a sudden no details are on the system. I spoke to Innocent(supervisor) who logged a complaint, and in the mean time I have to wait for the complaints department to call me back. Absolutely disgusting service!!!! How is it possible that i received confirmation of the payment to be debited from my cheque account and all of a sudden everything is gone? Multichoice - GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER!!!!!

I think Uniforum's advantages with .co.za, the most sssecucful SLD under .za namespace, has been the cost. They are quite affordable. Another factor of success is nationwide recognition: the widespread use of .co.za by South Africa's global companies has obviously endeared the local domain to local users. Many Kenyan companies are using .com which does not bode well for .co.ke as far as user recognition and trust is concerned. Also, you should have added the role played by domainers in South African ccTLD namespace. .CO.ZA is one of the few ccTLDs in the world where domain investors have invested heavily mopping up as many as hundreds of domains per investor. .CO.ZA is also traded actively in domain aftermarkets which increases trust and demand in the .co.za.It seems the lack of EPP in the past has not hindered domain registrations/uptake, after 10 years, South Africans have become used to legacy domain registrations via emails . Price is definitely key here and KENIC should listen to Kenyan internet users who know best how much they should pay for a domain!
