Vodacom SA Complaints - Cheated and Robbed, distasteful business practice

I have never been so angry with a company as i am at the moment. I am the proud owner of a Xperia Z3, I have been a Sony fan for years now. I have also been with Vodacom for nearly 10 years. I have had my Xperia Z3 since late Feb this year, and recently decided to carry out a software update which I was repeatedly reminded of by my device. After doing this update, my device went into a “boot loop”, initially i was not concerned as the update summary mentioned that this might happen for just a few minutes. This however carries on until the phone runs out of battery, or near on cooks itself. The phone was taken to Canal Walk from where the contract was taken, and booked in for repairs. It was initially funny to see how the exterior inspection was more thorough, then my self perceived helpfulness recollecting the events leading up to the failure, but nevertheless. 2 Weeks on, i am told the device is “Beyond Economical Repair”, and the reason has been conveniently pinned on some exterior damage. It seems vodacom reserves the right to remove a warranty if it is too expensive to repair the device, and any external damage of any sort is the perfect excuse. I regret renewing my contract..
